Cleaning from fungus: Nikkor 50 f/1.2 ...

After cleaning the Nikkor 50/1.4 in my previous post, it has been the turn of a Nikkor 50/1.2 from a friend ...

Of course, before giving it back, i took some sample shots, just to be able to say "Hi, yesterday i played with an f/1.2 lens", so i catched my Nikkor-to-M42 adapter ring and i screwed the lens on my K10D ...

Now, i'm starting to understand why some people like these ultra-fast lenses, despite all the faults that they may show when used wide open:

11 - IMGP2307

10 - IMGP2055

Both pictures have been taken at f/1.2 and are straight from the raw files, without PP.

I really like the DOF control that you can get with these lenses ... Time to start chasing for a "cheap" Pentax-K 50/1.2 ?

BTW, i was forgetting, if someone is interested in a short tutorial on cleaning this lens, just browse my set on Flickr ...

More to come (unluckily, not with this lens) ...

Edit: Thanks to the anonymous who pointed out that the Pentax-M 50/1.2 doesn't exist, Pentax sold only the -K and the -A versions ...
